The French Guiana Space Center launch of Vega VV17 ill-fated mission was attempting to launch the SEOSAT-Ingenio Earth observation satellite, along with the Taranis scientific research satellite.

Around 7 and a half minutes into the flight, an issue was observed right after the ignition of the 4th stage rocket and this resulted in an explosion, causing the Vega VV17 rocket to be lost, along with the satellites it was meant to be launching into orbit.

The Vega VV17 ill-fated mission was confirmed to be lost shortly after take-off and at this stage investigations are under way to determine the exact problem.
