China Launches Satellite
On November 12th 10:59 am (local time) the Tiantong 1-02 satellite launched from Xichang Satellite launch center in China (South West Region). It is the second mobile communication system China has launched, however they have plans for a third.
This satellite’s purpose is to provide a mobile network with ground facilities, providing weather, time and a stable and reliable mobile communication system. It is set to orbit at an altitude of around 22 236 miles/ 35 768 kilometres, where the speed of the spacecraft will match the orbit of the Earth.
