The Heart Nebula

The Heart Nebula is 7500 light years away from Earth, and can be found in the Perseus arm of the galaxy in the Cassiopeia constellation. On the 3rd of November 1787 William Herschel discovered it.

The reason for the Heart Nebula being red is because of the intense radiation, a cluster of stars is emanating at it’s center. This cluster goes by either Collinder 26 or Melotte 15 and contains several bright stars, some 50 times the size of our sun Sol.
